Seasonal Transitions

The transition from fall to winter.  For me, it means a lot of mixing of summer and winter textures and colors.  It means hanging onto every last bit of color and brightness that I can muster up.  It means, mixing tights/socks and sandals, wool sweaters and cotton skirts or vice-versa.

I particularly like mixing the socks and sandals thing.  I expanded it to tights and shooties.  I feel like I am cheating winter a bit by sneaking in my sandals so late in the season.  Tee-hee.

And we have already gotten a dusting of snow. It's a long season so if I can delay it a bit, hooray for me!

Oh, and check out the other posts for Visible Monday!

  1. I love the way you are cheating winter, Paula! Tights, socks and shooties are fab. Thanks so much for participating in Visible Monday : >

  2. Paula, great color combination and I also love to wear my wedges with socks!

  3. I would love to see a dusting of snow! But at least we have some cold winds blowing..that is big down here!! You look lovely and always mix your pieces so creatively!

  4. I love the tights/sandals idea. May try that one tomorrow for the office.

Very stylish combos, especially that bright green/blue pairing.

  5. You look so radiant in that first picture with the blue and yellow. Those colors look fabulous on you! And your smile as always brightens my day!

  6. Hi! I found your blog through Patti's Visible Monday - I posted today, too. You look so vibrant in your bright colors. And I am thinking I may have to try the sandal/tight thing. Very interesting.

    I am your newest follower!

  7. Love that color combination, the yellow and blue, on you. You look so vibrant and radiant. I like stretching the season a bit with the sandal & tights look too.

  8. sandals and socks are perfect! I like this look for fall. I like the bright color hues for your outfits. They really suit your complexion.

  9. Soooooooooooo lovely.

  10. I wouldn't have thought chartreuse and blue work together but there they are and they do.

I love tights and sandals together, and the idea of cheating winter.

I'm jealous of your snow :).

  11. Oh, do I love those colors! Those blues and yellows, across the top of this post -- wonderful. And I am all for "cheating winter," too!

  12. Way to mix it up! So many creative ideas that look great on you.

  13. Look at that dusting of snow! It looks like confectionary sugar! (So much sweeter sounding than it really is!)
I love the blue and yellow combo, too! so fresh and fun!

  14. I love your sense of color. It makes me happy just to look at it.
Did you get your package yet? I mailed it last Tuesday, so I thought you might have received it. I hope you enjoy it.

  15. Ahhh, a girl after my own heart. I really hate to let go of my open toed shoes and flip flops. I've tried the sock thing a couple of times too...because I've seen it's in style. I don't think my husband "gets it" though. haha
    Love your blog, Paula.

  16. When ever I read your posts I just start smiling........Today a song popped into my head...."Gotta a little Paula in my life" I added the Paula part but I mean it. I am happy to know you and to see that incredible smile! So thank you!
I also like the way you are cheating winter. I just might do that tomorrow!

  17. Love the title of your blog. Would love for you to join our little Monday Linky--we're all about sharing fashion fun:

  18. Good girl! mixing it all - i have been doing the same for years, but more now, it makes an outfit less depressing and you are not lost in the sea of black and neutrals you see all winter! About the lense i want, i know you can have the same effect with Photoshop, but you should see the sharpness with the lense, amazing - it costs about 200 for my camera, will save or maybe Mr. D will give it to me for X-mas
