A Real Mash-up

This is the start of my day.  I'm coming outside to take my outfit-of-the-day photos before I go to work.  This is my front door and this porch can be a nice warm place to take photos in the cooler weather.

jacket~EBay
skirt~J Crew
sweater~Victorias Secret
shoes~The Rack
The trouble with my front porch is the light can be really bright; consequently the colors of my clothes can become distorted.  I was lucky today--these colors look true.  How many pictures did I have to take?  I only have the patience and the time for about a half a dozen photos.  If they don't come out well, I have to wait until another day.

Having a lot of fun with Photoshop though!  I used this "copper" effect for the background in this picture.  The program is a bit tough to learn, and although I have used it in the past, I am finding I have to re-learn it all over again.  I am looking forward to sharing some cool photos with you!

Oh, and don't you love the mix of the glen plaid wool with this gold lame skirt?  It's a real mash-up of colors and textures.

Do you take your pictures in the same place every day?  Do you keep taking pictures until you get the "right shot"?

  1. I really like the glen plaid + fuchsia top combo. They balance each other really nicely. And fun effects with the Photoshop!

  8. Deeply loving this outfit, one of the best you've ever shown! And you look so glorious in your sequins, which is included my post today! I really do not like most pictures of myself and make my husband keep shooting until I can find the one that is the least objectionable. XO, Jill

  9. You look so pretty today! I agree with Pseu's comment, the jacket and top are perfect together.

That's neat you're playing with photoshop, I keep meaning to do the same thing with my own outfit photos. Maybe next time :).

  11. You are way ahead of me. I am going to go purchase a tripod tomorrow and hopefully experiment taking pictures and getting them on my blog. I want them to look good and know nothing about Photoshop, Gimp, Piknik, etc. so have a lot to learn. How did you start? Did you take any classes or have a friend teach you?
