When Pam over at Over50feeling40 decided to do a jewelry swap; I said, "sure, why not!" This piece of jewelry is from Debbie over at Boopnut.
I actually flipped the disk over and found it was made on mother-of-pearl. I liked that side better and used it instead. I don't usually wear necklaces; earrings are my thing--but this was a nice change. It's good to get out of your comfort zone. Thanks Debbie!
I paired the necklace with a casual outfit--I'm thinking of posting more casual outfits for all of us baby boomers now partially retired or retired--or just working part time. Sometimes its more difficult to find casual clothes than work clothes! This look of a tunic top and capris works great for me.
Thanks Pam and Debbie for this fun post!
That necklace looks nice on that side and it that outfit! I haven't worn anything blue to do the earrings lately, but when I think of an outfit, will be sure to post it!

Looks great!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace, and you, look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is beautiful and it looks really good on you. You look very happy and relaxed. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteYour necklace looks really nice with this outfit. I love mother of pearl. It fascinates me how it can have such beautiful colors and patterns.
ReplyDeleteThis is GREAT! I'm not used to seeing you with so little color but the black and gray is great on you! Hugs girly! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteI like the mother of pearl side, too. Looks great with the basic black background!
ReplyDeleteI've never done a swap yet...sounds like fun. It does take thought on casual outfits, I agree. I like how you did the necklace your way. I get so many ideas on how to turn things around from reading blogs. Blogs are more inspiring to me than fashion magazines right now. Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.com
ReplyDeleteI like the necklace on you...and I like the mother-of-pearl side best myself! And, yes, please, to more casual looks. Sometimes I think capris get a bad rap.
ReplyDeleteGreat necklace! It really adds a lot to the outfit, but I'm glad you kept it simple so it stands out! Jewelry swap--what a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the necklace. I hope we see more of Pam's ideas!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about the need for inspiration for leisure dressing. This cute outfit really hits the mark.
I really like this piece!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes to more casual outfits, as it is true, there are many of us who work from home or not at all and casual can be fun and stylish as well! Love your casual look today :)
(Black is still my favorite and I think it makes a perfect palette for everyone to add their style to!)
You Look awesome!

Great necklace -- you actually have 2 necklaces in one! Love your casual look. You are so right about it being harder to get good casual outfits. I seriously want to upgrade my "lounging" clothes but alas: capris are just horrid on me! Enjoy them knowing you look terrific!
