When I started this blog, I was concerned that it might be a little self-absorbed, like many of the fashion diary posts. So I began to ask myself, Is Fashion Superficial? Each morning I look forward to the creative process of getting dressed; its my time of day to be the artist~and using color, texture, proportion (and maybe some fashion) I put my outfit together. It makes me feel good and if it provokes others--all the better! Not so superficial......
Your thoughts~

My humble opinion:
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not superficial. If being fashion-conscious makes you look and feel your best, what's the harm?
Just like a good makeup application, it is your individual artistic expression, and it gives you more girl power. LOL
I'm with you. Often those of us who pay attention to fashion are perceived by others as superficial, but I consider that a very superficial reading of me/you/us-as-text.
ReplyDeleteI hear you -- I often get defensive for caring about fashion. But I actually think that self-esteem and female empowerment are.... HUGELY important! Fashion can be part of that, as long as we keep it in perspective, and as long as we use fashion to serve US, rather than being slaves to fashion as dictated by OTHERS. That's my take on it, anyway.....
