Confessions of a Weekend Blogger

I couldn't decide how to wear this; tucked in or out.  So half the day I wore it in; the other half out!

I must confess; I am a weekend blogger. It wasn't always so, it just sort of developed. Do you want to know why?

1. Because I hadn't become an overnight sensation from blogging.  (I know, it's sort-of sour grapes, but not being so popular, I didn't feel like I needed to post every couple of days!)
2. I found I wasn't crazy about writing, and in addition, in spite of some training, I never truly bonded with the camera.
3. I found I liked 3D relationships better.

I am barefoot because the shoes I wore to work were killing me!
Why do I blog at all then you ask? Well, I love checking in with other women (especially my friends over at Visible Monday) to see what they wear, what they think about fashion and style and the unique problems we older women have. Plain and simple.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I remember talking about this with you last year - that you're much more a visual person than a words-person. But I am so glad you've continued your blogging, it's always great to see you! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday xoxo

  2. You have such a creative voice, Paula...which makes you unique and special. I think doing more with your art would be fabulous. But, you have to do what you feel comfortable with...I am happy you are at least on the weekends!!

  3. What a fun mix of dots! I'm glad to see you pop up over at Patti's for Visible Monday. Blogging can be demanding, and I think we all have to figure out how much and how often works for us.

  4. Hi Paula!

It's not an actual photo shoot, it's photoshop wonder!
I checked tutorials at work, I don't have a lot of work to do so I educated myself, hahaha!

Oh! Pam is right show us your art!

  5. Whether you're a 1000-follower blogger or not, I like seeing what you're up to! You have a real talent for pattern mixing and putting clothes together in a way that I might also wear, and I like that. I think if you loved taking photos and also researching fashion and cosmetics, you'd reach a different audience. But you should just do what you enjoy!

    1. Val, so weird, I am a visual arts major but I never took a photo course till recently. And well, I never LIKED taking photos. But I bought a mid-price camera and took the plunge. Well, it was ok for about 6 months and then...the camera sat in the corner of the room collecting dust! I went back to taking pics with my phone! And without the better quality photos; well, I become the weekend blogger!

  6. Well, a weekend blogger is better than a monthly blogger! My computer crashed in the middle of my last post (6 weeks ago?) and I'm still getting used to a new operating system. Just today figured out how to get bloglovin to cooperate with Firefox. In any case, I love the polka dotted denim vest!

  7. I think you are a lovely lady with a spirited style so whatever you do to share with other women is appreciated. Blogging does take a lot of time, I'm not watching TV any more. I guess that's a positive. If you are a 3-d person, I'd love to see that too.

  9. It's good to see/hear what you've been up to. And it seems like this could be the time to admit I am not very popular either and wonder why I blog???? I like to write and it's a way to keep up with those who live in other states. So write what and when you like and wear what you like!!!

  11. I'm glad that you blog. I appreciate the fact that you have fun with clothes, and although I don't comment much, I'm so happy to see what new ideas or remixes you've incorporated into your wardrobe. Keep going, even if it's just for the weekends :)!

  12. I, for one, am glad you do! You look adorable in your denim and dots. You sure do a number of silhouettes and genres well.
I know what you mean about freedom within obscurity! I'm an early week blogger only because my busy time starts on Wednesday and runs through the weekend!

  13. You're a sensation to me and I'm glad you're here! Love your dots, the blue and your radiant smile. Finding balance with blogging is an ongoing challenge, and ever changing. Maybe organic.

  14. Paula, I am not a blogger, just a looker, is that a word?; and I am breaking my own blogger law of not posting comments anymore because I want you to know you are the blogger that started me on my journey of dressing better even though I was 60 at the time. I have always loved clothes; I had just lost my style along the way. When you took a break from posting, I really missed you. I kept going back to your blog and seeing that "gone fishin'" sign and missing your inspiration. I was delirious when I saw you post again on Patti's Visible Monday. So do what's comfortable and I look forward to whatever and whenever you post.

  15. Paula,
This is a great blog. I am not a pro but I have a very good camera & would love to do some work with you. You don't have to bond with the camera. The camera bonds with you.
