I was thinking this week how easy it is to forget how to play. I think it creeps up on you as you age. Sometimes it takes a puppy or a grandchild to remind you how important it is to do something as frivolous as play. (PS: I don't have a grandchild but I DO have a puppy)
In addition to Chanel-the puppy, I play everyday with my clothes; as silly as that sounds. It's like the little-girl-dress-up-thing.
SO I'm asking my friends over at Visible Monday, How do you PLAY?
I also play with my clothes. And now with my new grandson! Have a great week, Paula
ReplyDeleteOMG congrats!
DeletePlaying with puppies and clothes, now that is the way to live and have fun.
ReplyDeleteI do play dress up in the mornings and sometimes in the afternoon as well.
Puppies are great for reminding us to play, and nap, and cuddle. I love the skirt...print kind of reminds me of Peter Max, remember him?
ReplyDeleteI sure do; I still have a book on him! It is very peter max like; its actually from Nanette Lepore and I had to lengthen it with some material that almost matched but not quite so I put some silk organza over it. Can you tell?
DeleteLove your wonderful top. Such a cute outfit.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt, it is soooooo playful. My grandkids keep me playing, plus I like to be a bit silly sometimes.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and playful : > I love to play with my cats. I play by riding my bike and watching silly movies too. Thank for sharing your great look with Vis Monday! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are right about forgetting to play. I remembered how to play when I got my pool. All that floating around with no real purpose reminded me how much fun it is to do something JUST for fun! And I like playing dress-up with my clothes, too. I like that line from one of Destiny's Child's songs that goes, "Now the dolls are you and me." Yep...and that's who we like to dress up now! I love your skirt...very cute outfit. ReplyDeleteLove your skirt, as i have no grandchildren, playing with clothes and fabric give me endless pleasure
ReplyDeleteYou look so put together and cute in such an easy and relaxed way! I love to play in my closet daily, as well, but sometimes it's a struggle! I need your style to rub off on me a little!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more, playing is a very important and essential thing to do in our lives. I would say playing with clothes and a dog is the best and you do a fantastic job of clothes playing.
ReplyDeleteI try to find time wach day to do a little playing, in my closet as well as physical play time (biking, fishing, boating, basically anything that makes me laugh).
Hi Paula,
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to you blog and I've had a fabulous time. Your style is really great.
I think its so easy to get caught up in life and all the 'to dos' that are demanding our attention that we do indeed to forget how to play.
Have a stunning week

DeleteI will check out the Body Oil Giveaway!
I agree whole heartedly! Play brings balance to our otherwise chaotic lives! Besides, there should not be an age restriction to having fun, I digitise my wardrobe, playing around, remixing and going along as I invent new combinations, great post, and lovely outfit!

I love that skirt! Gorgeous colours and pattern.
ReplyDeleteI play by being creative. That can either be designing, cooking, or creating outfits. Anything that stretches my creative abilities is fun for me.
bisous

Yes, Suzanne, that is my play also~being creative. xoxo
DeleteGreat outfit. It just screams "fun" - yet doesn't look crazy. I love the top paired with that lovely printed skirt.
ReplyDeleteI love to wear fun shoes like pink polka-dot Converse or navy sequined oxfords!
Alicia
A very playful and colorful skirt, Paula. I too play with my clothes - birds of a feather!
ReplyDeleteI now have a pink streak in my hair!!
ReplyDeleteyour outfit is adorable!
Seriously sweet little skirt ... and I'm sure you have a lot of ways to style it, too.
ReplyDeleteLooking pretty and summery and very playful!
I play with the dogs and cats, of course, and on occassion, with our horses. Not as much as I used to, though. My best playmate is the huz ... he's a great one for word-play, and that's my best game. I play a bit with drawing, but it gets to be work pretty fast if I don't watch it! I'm pretty sure you can identify with that.
Actually, there's a point for some of us when we suddenly give ourselves permission to play more ... may it always be so for you!
Lovely outfit! I play with fashion everyday, I play with styles, cuts, colour and textures :) I love it and it makes me happy, you are very right, we need to remember how to play :)
ReplyDeleteHugs!! Beata xx
