I don’t
have many necklaces. I am an earring person. But when I saw this colorful
trend, I just had to have some. I’ve worn this necklace 3X’s this week; (a gift
for Mother’s Day), and get many compliments.
It was a
great subject for my drawing of the week.

The
statement necklace is nothing new—heck, you could say it was older than 2000
years old! Although, they called them “broadcollars” back then; looks like a statement necklace to me. Same idea,
no?
Have a
great week, and Hello to everyone over at Patti’s Visible Monday!
Love your art work!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big necklace person, either, but I've enjoyed seeing all the pretty & bold pieces on other ladies. Yours is really pretty!
Love it against the colors in the crochet and the blue shirt. I think I only own ONE statement necklace.
ReplyDeleteI agree ...I love that top necklace Paula...i would wear it alot also! Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a necklace person so I do understand that this is a beautiful necklace and I also think that the tow shirt together made for a cool bohemian inspire outfit.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fab necklace, and you're working the colors beautifully! I remember the great Betsey Johnson earrings you bought when we were shopping together - what fun. Thanks for sharing your great look, and art, with Visible Monday. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are good at remembering Patti!
DeleteIt looks vrey nice eith the lace top
ReplyDeleteOooh, love that lacy top and button down accented by the bubble necklace. I have one in coral and one in a minty teal color and I love them. Got them cheap on ebay and at first thought I'd order a bunch more in a variety of colors, but restrained myself and will be content with the two I have. They're fun though.
ReplyDeleteThe colors and textures are really interesting together. I'd like to see more of that lace top - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteVal, I know--I'm so bad lately about taking pictures. I'm just doing my iphone--I sort of got tired of taking pictures of myself!
DeleteI love not only your pretty necklace but as well your lace top and that you paired it with a demin shirt. A great style!
ReplyDeleteI would call it statement necklace too, in fact Zara came up with necklaces very similar to that last season and some more this. Your crochet and chambray mix is brilliant!

I haven't looked at Zara' necklaces but I will! I love Zara!
DeleteYes, that is a beauty of a necklace against the lacy top. I like the word broadcollar and must remember it.
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is art and you wear it perfectly! I love it sooo much!
ReplyDeleteCute necklace!! Love it with the lace top!
ReplyDeleteStatement necklaces are so trendy and I usually stray away from them because I feel overdressed, I'm really gonna work on incorporating them into my wardrobe to give me more variety. Thanks, for the inspiration.

Love the necklace paired with lace-great look!!!
ReplyDeleteReva :)
So much to love about this post. Your unusual take on blue and orange ... works like a charm and you won't meet yourself walking down the street! Your drawing ... gotta begin mine again. You gave us a little jewel to look at! Then, the connections to ancient design and aesthetics. Love your notes there. Some day I'll trot out my Celtic torc mini-collection and we can chat!
ReplyDeleteI put a link to this post from mine today, to show your Blue/Orange styling.
Have a great week,
Jan
Thanks Jan! I love this color combo too and since I wore this, I 'm looking in my wardrobe for more!
DeleteIt's a great necklace! Want...

That is a pretty necklace. Love the color clash. They really do complement each other.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty nectarine necklace. It goes so well with chambray. Like Val, I'm hearting on the lace top. Please do show it off.

Your necklace looks great with the chambray shirt. glad you're enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous combination. The necklace on lace is a great idea. I too have discovered necklaces this week after organizing my jewelry. It''s fun to focus on a new (to me) accessory.
ReplyDeleteThis necklace is looking wonderful with this top! Great contrast and the colors look vibrant.
