Baby Boomer Shopping

Do you remember when you could shop for hours? I remember spending evenings down at the "new" mall back in the 70's and easily doing 4-5 hour shopping marathons.  Now I'm lucky if I can do 2 hours; one hour is a comfortable limit. Pre-shopping on line helps cut the shopping time down also.

Which brings me around to my point. I love it when I find something that works like these "Hue" leggings!  They work for me because they have a higher rise than most--so no muffin top; are mostly cotton and are reasonably priced ($20). I got these at the Rack.

And when something works, I buy in multiples; it cuts down on shopping time.

For future reference, I'll add these leggings over to my "Great Finds" page.  Do you have any "great finds" you'd like to share?

Hello to Patti and all my friends over at Not Dead Yet Style's Visible Monday!

  1. So, far I can still marathon shopping! I really prefer it, but I find myself online more these days because of time. My recent great find are my new Coldwater Creek stretch jeans...they stay in shape, look great and are so comfortable. I will have to check out the leggings. Thanks Paula

  2. I have some basic black Hue leggings, and I like them for the same reasons you mentioned. I haven't seen these new "boot-cut" leggings, though. Guess I don't get out shopping often enough! One hour or two at the most is all I can manage shopping, but I do love to do a bunch at once so I have lots of new mix-and-match possibilities!

  6. Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the images on this blog

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Love your pose! haha
I can't shop for long either. I prefer online shopping! ...especially when it's free shipping & free return!

  8. Gosh... the last time I shopped for 4-5 hours was...yesterday!

The leggings do look comfy and anything that prevents muffin top is a winner in my eyes. I'll have to check them out!

  10. I need to look for those! I have been trying to find a good pair of leggings (I want something that is a little thicker than tights.).

  11. I bet you look wonderful in those leggings with your cute skinny legs, I can't seem to make them work for me. You shop just like my husband, when he finds something he likes and it fits, he buys it two or three colors without thinking twice about it. As for the shopping part, I hear you loud and clear, one good hour makes for a fun shopping day. Although I will admit I kind of miss the marathons some times.

  12. I can still do marathon shopping if I need to but find I actually prefer to shop online these days to physically traipsing around. Great leggings! I also buy basics in multiples if they work for me.

  13. I agree I find my shopping tolerance has diminished considerably over the last few years. Thank goodness for the internet and some good local shops. I now find large stores overwhelming just too much choice. I agree if I find something great I will buy several, especially jeans and T shirts.

  14. It's funny but when I find something I really like I don't buy multiples, unless it's stockings or underwear. I'm more about finding really unique items that are totally different from everything else in my closet.

I still can put in a full 8 hour day shopping without a problem. It seems my stamina has only increased over the years for that. I don't think that is a good thing. At least not for my wallet.

I have become more of an online shopper as well which is even more dangerous since I don't even need to get up out of my chair.

    bisous

  15. I do a lot of online shopping since I live an hours drive away from the city (Munich). However, sometimes I am in the mood for real "marathon" shopping ;-)
I see I am in good company here!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog!

  17. Funny thing--I NEVER liked to go to the mall. But I could putter around a craft, fabric or thrift store for HOURS!!

  18. I pre-shop on line as well, when I can. I hardly ever just window shop, though. More often, these days, I go "on quest" for a specific item. Of course, it never hurts to find more than I bargained for! Beautiful pant! The cut works so well for you!

  19. I'm going to check these leggings out, based on your recommendation. As for shopping, if I'm at a great estate sale I get lost in the process and time flies. But in a retail shopping experience, I don't last for long.
