Biker Jackets
Lotta buzz lately in our blog world regarding biker jackets! And here in sunny soCal, where temps were only in the 50's last week, I had to resort to wearing my husbands biker jacket that I gave him about 25 years ago. Hello EIGHTIES!!!
I probably would not have worn it had it not been for Sacramento's post regarding her biker jacket which really gave me a flashback to the eighties--and in a GOOD way.
All season, I've been on the search for a flattering biker jacket. I've tried many. Strangely enough, one that seems to work is my husbands!
Leather jackets are a staple in my wardrobe; check them out in my "trends" page. I wear them as a blazer inside --not just outerwear. Do you?
And have you been over to Patti's Visible Monday?

I love my biker jacket. It's a Harley Davidson one which I purchased for only 30.00 used and I was thrilled. It's kind of stiff so I don't wear it often but I sure love the look of your worn lived in one. Brown leather is so rich!
ReplyDeleteA lot of the ones I have tried on with the zipper that is at an angle make me look busty. But I need a black one!
DeleteYou look *great* in your husband's jacket, Paula! Love the natural "distressing" that makes it look so appealing. And SoCal looks pretty terrific too : > Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday xxx
ReplyDeleteMenswear for us this week, eh?
DeleteBiker jackets are the best!! You could wear that one everyday and look great! I think women wearing men's clothes (especially the men they love) is so classy-chic. I have a "fashion" biker jacket that I bought several years ago, very soft without a lot of hardware, and I think I'll love it forever.
ReplyDeleteLeather is a great staple, no?
DeleteI don't think you should return it to him...do you think he would notice??
ReplyDeleteHe just got a new one Pam, so I may not!
DeleteYou look so cute. Love the legging things under your floral skirt.
ReplyDeleteLisa it was so cold I had to wear something!
DeleteI love the soft brown leather and think it's a classic. Keep the jacket! It's fabulous that you have enough self confidence to march to a different drummer. People who are a little different are more interesting than the cookie cutter folks. At least I like to think I am. I'm glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI love old leather everything!!! Keep the jacket :)
ReplyDeleteGreat jacket! (It's useful to be able to steal clothes from the guys isn't it?) I collect leather biker jackets, that's how much I love them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful jacket, and wonderful you everytime, dear friend

I love biker jackets. I have one that I get to wear once in awhile in our warm FL climate. I think they are so hip. Love it with that beautifully colored skirt. I love how you styled this.
ReplyDeleteLovely jacket and great colours! You are a little ray of sunshine!
ReplyDeleteIt's a keeper!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you paired leather with floral...too cool! :)
You look better than fab in the jacket. It has that worn in look that only time can give it. I'd wear my hubby's but he smokes and whoa does it smell bad!
ReplyDeleteI wear leather jackets as both inside and outside wear. Some are too heavy to wear as a blazer. I do love them though and have way, way too many!
Fun outfit! I like the short brown leggings under the floral skirt, too. I used to have a jacket like that, about the same color. It didn't do my hips any favors to have it gathered around the bottom, so I didn't keep it.
ReplyDeleteI have a suede blazer that I wear indoors sometimes. I should really wear it more!
Ta-daaaaa! You look smart and cute as a button ... youthful without being jejune at all. Wearing my leather jackets indoors is not easy here in Inhumanly Humid-Land. I always want to keep them on at the restaurant when I'm working, but wind up shucking them like a bad-boyfriend after a very short time. I get away with it when I go out to someone else's restaurant, thought. Would like to do it more often, though.
ReplyDeleteyou make me laugh, Jan!
DeleteGreat look on you Paula! I loved Sacramento's jacket too, and can see why it inspired you. Makes me want to pull out my leather and wear a piece tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt you're wearing. It looks adorable with that jacket! :)

Biker jackets! I'm playing with the idea of it- right now seem to have gathered up a few, but don't wear them much- I love yours! The fact its your hubby's makes it all the richer!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Great minds think alike. I've been wearing my new black leather biker jacket to death!
