Most of you are probably not, shall we say, as DARING as I am with color. Playing with it is part of my artist make-up and I have fun with it, really.
Would you like to play with it too? What I might suggest: Trust your instincts; I think most of us have a good sense as to what looks good on us. Strangely enough, most of your favorite colors are probably the ones that look the best on you. Of course, the color can vary widely--and this is what makes color choosing so tough and why its just so much easier to stick to neutrals. Like black.
Me and black. Very rare. Had to add as much color as possible. |
This week I have added a new page: Color and Pattern, and will share my experiments with color and pattern with you! Please check it out~along with Patti over at Visible Monday!
Love the black mixed with the red and blue. Love the blue shade of your tights and shoes.
ReplyDeleteThat color shows up more blue in pictures--I would say its more violet--still very pretty tho.
DeleteColor BECOMES you! Me, I still love to wear black. I try. Really I do. (Maybe it's because I am quite a bit older than you?????)
ReplyDeleteWell, have you checked out the ladies over at "advanced Style"? They are older than me and boy, they make me look un-daring!
DeleteI have rarely seen you in black, Paula, and this look is fabulous! I really like your new Color and Pattern section too. Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteYou look great Paula and I love this picture!! This is a really good look for you...have a wonderful week, GF!!
ReplyDeleteI love your shoes! So cute! Found you on Visible Monday!

Shoes are Chinese laundry!
DeleteAnd. I will stop by your blog!
You belong in color...you wear it so well!
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about a color and pattern page. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteLooking smocking hot Patty!
ReplyDeleteI have always admired your talent and ability to play with color. The blue and red combo displays your art and leaps off the screen. That and your smiling face. Congratulations on you color and pattern page!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE color and playing with it!!! I note inspiration EVERYWHERE!!! I guess it's my art school background coming out!! Definitely will be checking out your color page!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit!
Ahhh a similar spirit!
DeleteExcellent fashion statement. The black as a background and pop it with those colors is GREAT!!! I do not wear black because it is too harsh for me but now I will think about wearing it while adding any color I want. I look best in white so I pop my black with white but now I see I can be far more creative. Do you take your own photos with a tripod or do you have a photographer?
ReplyDeleteOwn photos with a tripod and just with my iPhone
ReplyDeleteI have a nice camera but it's too much trouble!
Looking forward to your color lessons. I'm a color-coward, although I do try it fairly often ... it's always in a safe, conservative way. Dull, dull, dull. I understand the Picasso inspiration, and how nice you look in it. But literal old me thought to go dig out a breton stripe tee!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of color blocking! Love those leggy legs!
ReplyDeleteI love colorful dress too. I think dark colors look too depressing. And colorful clothes are bright and can always make one look more energitic.
