The other day over at Une Femme, Deja Pseu was discussing the "festive casual" dressing that is a lot more likely to take place for us baby boomers for the holidays. With this thought in mind, I shopped my closet, and chose some my more festive items. (pictured above)
What I would do for "festive casual" is use one of the above "fun/festive" items, and then pair it with my regular wear. Festive may be something glittery, a little shorter skirt or maybe even red tights.
the glittery sweater and the little, almost too short skirt! And it was getting dark! |
and holiday cheer with my best friend, Katie! |
Well done! The sweater works really well with the rest of the ensemble.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration to dig thru my closet deja pseu
DeleteWonderful glittery sweater! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteIt does tend to add lbs tho--hence the pose!
DeleteYou achieved the festive/casual look VERY well, I think!
ReplyDeleteI wore a shorter-than-normal dress today! I posted a picture of it and decided (after seeing it) to wear black tights. THAT made it better, I think. I had fun wearing it and received several compliments!
Yes, and I was one who posted how much better I liked it!
DeleteWhat a cute skirt, and I don't think it's too short. With tights and great legs like yours, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteSkirt is knit and so comfortable!
Deletewell, the legs are the last to go,they say.....
Not too short at all! I love your festive casual look - it's what I wore to our office party last night, combination of sparkly and everyday pieces. Thanks for sharing your fabulous-ness with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteThanks patti for creating this great forum!
DeleteThose are smiles!! You and your friend are radiant.
ReplyDeleteFestive casual - I see bling everywhere this year, paillettes sewn onto anything wearable or to be carried. I must say I like it but I have never seen anyone wearing it. You OWN that short skirt so it's definitely not too short. You look stunning.
You wear that skirt really well. That whole outfit looks so cute on you. It's comfy, yet you could wear that to a holiday party. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYour look so youthful. And those pretty shoes would indeed make any outfit festive!
ReplyDeleteI love your festive casual outfit!!! Plus you can wear the pieces with other items so you don't have something in your closet that is an orphan!
