New Format

UPDATE:  TODAY I HAVE POSTED ON THE TRENDS PAGE!

This is sort of a major overhaul and a new concept for my blog.  I guess they call it a "blog-azine" or "blogzine".  Here is the way I'm interpreting this new trend.

To digress, I became disenchanted with the whole blog thing.  I was searching for meaning.  (I know sounds a little deep...what can I say?)  I read IFB's articles looking for inspiration, and decided what I would really like is an over-50 magazine.  Why not try and create a blog with similar characteristics?  What makes a magazine?  To me, organized ideas and great pictures.  Well, I can organize and soon I hope to have great pictures also.

I will be using my home page like a magazine cover and table of contents.  New articles/pictures will be in my pages.   I am going to organize ideas/styles and hopefully it will be a resource for inspiration.  Information at your finger-tips!  The cover page may remain the same for a couple of weeks, so check in the pages for new info.  I will let you know somehow, not sure yet, of new stuff.

Hope it works out and let me know what you think! To make it easier also,  I have added "reaction" buttons to make it quicker just to say a quick "Hi!"

  2. back over 10 years ago, (before blogging), I approached a woman from UMaine, who publishes a magazine, to help me develop a magazine for women over 50 that would include fashion advice (among other topics). she told me that idea would never work...and then 2 years later MORE appeared on the magazine racks ...
if you have an idea, run with it. don't let anyone say you can't do something you feel strongly about.
I live in Bangor, Maine, but I grew up in Saugus, MA. I've been reading your blog for a few years and really missed you while you were gone fishing. I'm glad that you are well and back to writing.
I don't write a blog, so will have to send this to you as anonymous.

    1. I just wish it had more fashion...hence this! Altho it'll be only me for now--maybe in the future I'll incorporate all over-50 bloggers!
I missed the community--thanks for missing me!

  4. I can hardly wait to see what you do with this Paula....you are so creative, I bet it will be excellent. This has been a dream of mine the whole time I have been blogging and balancing my time with family and work has just not allowed me to work it the way I desire...so I am anxious to see how you do. I could even see several of us combining efforts into one online publication at some point! I wish you much success and am so glad you are back!

    1. I see that vision too Pam. I don't know if I could handle something like that, but I could certainly do the artistic stuff behind it. As it is now, blogger is limiting my vision...that's ok for now tho. I just still feel I have something I want to share!
Thanks Pam for your support. You've always been a great cheerleader!

  5. my previous posting makes it sound like I started MORE magazine, but I did not. I had the same idea as whoever it was that actually did start it. I just didn't follow my vision. it was my intended message that you follow yours.

    1. tHATS going to be the problem I think, If i leave the main page as like the cover and dont change it, it will remain the same on the feed, I'm afraid. I may have to change the main page still. Today, I just made a headline that the post will be in the "trends" page today. Maybe google support can suggest something? lol
