Red and Pink

Color Theory Thoughts

I could never figure out why, growing up, that pink and red were such a no-no.  Pink is red tinted; if you were a painter, you would be adding white to red.  So what was the big deal?

I think this so-called offbeat color combo gives this long skirt some funk.  And I think long skirts need funk--otherwise it can be a voyage into old-lady-land.  This skirt is gorgeous though.  The wool fabric drapes well and is of high quality.  And yes, that's another body suit underneath--hey, it is a great layering piece!

  8. Sold on the color combo! I'm just thinking out loud here....Looks like you have on layers. Oh, guess what?
This weeks trending link is all about layers! You little pixie you better just sprinkle on some fairy dust and pop right on over.
Wanted to tell you that my work has been wacky and I haven't had time to play around with photoshop. One day I'll get serious and focus!

  9. It's true--why were we taught this about red and pink or pink and orange (another one I was taught). I like the way this brightens up the conservative color of the skirt and the length. Teach me more about color theory please!

  21. I can see your'e having a lot of fun with the photo manipulation. I am going to have to check some of that out. Well, you have figured out how to wear red and pink for sure. It's funny about all those no-no's we were raised with. Myself, I think I am going to have to investigate hot pink and orange.

  22. There used to be so many fashion rules, no red with pink, no orange or chartreuse and no white in the winter....why? Love your red and pink jacke and scarf.
