Vests, Fishnets and the Latin Quarter

It was about vests and stockings this week.

Yes, I had to break down and wear stockings this week; fishnets and opaque tights.
The khaki vest in the middle I am passing on...it just isn't me!

And this is the picture on my iPhone this week; makes me all warm and nostalgic about Paris.  This looks like the view from our room in the Latin quarter years ago.  Don't you just love the wrought iron?

This leather paint works; Tarragon.

and this was my DIY project this week--I made my old booties into leopard ones.  Well, they may look more like Dalmatian spots....

  3. We are on the same wave length this week with leopard as the feature. Leopard booties will take the season by storm, I'm sure. And your autumn finery, with vests and stockings, portray your usual flair with color.

  4. Today, 9/30 is my last day of no stockings. DC is not a trendy spot, too many lawyers and Congressmen from remote locations.
Ten years ago I'd only go bear-legged to work in between Memorial and Labor Days.
In a bow to the youth of America I've stretched those dates and will consider it from May-October.
When the young girls get their black tights out it's my signal.
Personally I'm not a black tight wearer, I prefer a textured stocking or semi-sheer gray/black that shows off the definition of my toned legs.
That's a nice way of saying that when you're too cheap to pay for parking and you walk 20 minutes to the bus stop your legs get curvy.

    1. I've found I can stretch it by wearing short boots and bare-legs. Well, for now anyway!

  8. I do love that iphone art/photo. So cool!

It is funny that when we see ourselves in photos how differently we perceive our outfits.

That DIY turned out pretty cute!

  9. Vests are great, aren't they? Some warmth and contrast, but not as much as a full jacket. Although I just love your magenta leopard jacket with that black and white dress - great pattern mixing!

Your drawing is lovely! I love that contrast of the line drawings and the real hydrangeas. And Paris, Latin Quarter, how wonderful. Right now my desktop at work is a nighttime photo of a village alley in the south of France. It's a wonderful memory when I'm at work.

  11. Cool boots! I love how you've customized them. Your polka-dots outfit - that's my fave - but you look gorgeous in all these outfits.
