Lifted from the Mundane

by Picasso, must be an early work.  Maybe Chanel-esque; no?
Art lifts me from the mundane; as does other forms of culture--great literature, museum visit, a show.  Thanks to Pinterest, I am daily inspired by great works of art like Picasso, when I tune in.

And life does become mundane.  As does blogging. And even-though there is always a story behind my posts, I still get bored with myself.

The story behind this rather mundane work outfit, is the scarf.  I cut this lace top in 2; the scarf is the bottom half; top half you'll see in a later post.

What lifts you, my friends from Visible Monday and others,  from the mundane?

    1. Quite creative and a colorful outfit!
Is a joy to be inspire by art and there are times that we get bored with ourselves, is human nature unless you are an extreme narcissist.

  2. you so often write what I'm thinking - I get bored with myself on my blog too!I have just started some DIY projects (like no-sew transformations) and that's keeping my interest up. And it's time to do some renovations in the bathroom, also fun. Love your lace topper!

  4. There is nothing mundane about this post! That's such a good idea. Reading other people's ideas helps me think outside the box and try to use things in new ways. I can't wait to see what you did with the other half!

    Love the skirt!

  6. Your outfit really caught my eye and is far from mundane. The scarf from a top is amazing. Beautiful scenery lifts my spirits and a walk in the woods restores my energies.

  10. Very creative with an elegant and original result. You look lovely in yellow, and the skirt is a knockout on you! Is it satin? Love the Picasso ... not his best fan, but I like this very painterly piece quite a lot.
Writing or drawing *well* elevates my mood more than just about anything else. Dinner out with my husband is my favorite thing besides that ... good talk with my "most interesting man in the world" and good food, we hope and good wine.
I'm never bored. Restless, annoyed, unhappy, but never bored. My cure all for most dissatisfaction with myself is to loose myself in a novel. Easier to deal with if I forget all about me for a bit.

    1. Picasso does have some strange stuff, but it always draws me in for a closer look!
You are very lucky you are never bored; I used to be like that but now in my 50's it's a lot of "been there done that" type mentality. Good thing is, it doesn't last for long! xoxo

  11. What a great idea! And to answer your question... what lifts me is getting outdoors. Something I see on someone always inspires me to create! Also, these link ups inspire me. I wouldn't have thought to cut up a shirt to turn it into a scarf like you! Or belt a structured leather jacket, like I just saw in a post. We all have something to offer, whether or not it's visible at first from the photo.. but clicking through can lead to inspiration. And I love finding out what's behind the photo, if you will! Thank YOU for your inspiration!
