Happy New Year everyone! I am traveling right now and my wardrobe is less than stellar--more like homeless chic--so I will spare you for now. In place of my Outfit of the Day, I have decided to divulge some of my beauty finds. Check them out on my new page "Baby Boomer Beauty". Featured here is my favorite mascara--

MASCARA
I read somewhere that those of us over fifty should stay away from the thickening mascaras. (visual: Tammy Faye Baker). It's one over-fifty guideline that I tend to agree with. Too bad too, as I would love to thicken my thinning lashes! Consequently, I will settle for a lengthening mascara. I love this new one with the little ball rather than the long wand. I can get to those pesky, disappearing lashes on the end. Just my preference, but worth a try!
Do you know of a thickening mascara that doesn't age us? Please share!
I've tried Dior, Chanel, and a thousand others. My favorite mascara for the past 6 or so months has been benefit's they're real! I love it. No clumping and it thickens and lengthens my lashes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marla! I was wondering about your thoughts! I will give it a try!
DeleteI have great results with Cover Girl Lash Blast...no reason for me to spend big bucks in this area!! Be safe, Paula, and have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was using and it is good. I like this wand better tho! Thx Pam!
DeleteI do like the Chanel. I think the trick is to apply just a single coat which still looks quite natural.
ReplyDeleteI will try that--I usually do 2 coats and maybe that's when the clumping begins...
ReplyDeleteAre you blogging again Paula?
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back.

Yes, I'm back! I'm on vacation right now, so blogging post will be random, but will be back in full force in February!:~)
DeletePaula! I'm fortunate to have decently long lashes. I've been using something by NY something (can't remember) and I really like it! Be save girly!
ReplyDeleteSerene~thanks Gf! If you remember what kind, let me know!
DeleteI am always looking for a good mascara for my nearly non-existent lashes. I will check this out.
ReplyDeleteI like Maybelline Falsies because it has a nice curved brush, and I'm a longtime fan of L'Oreal's Voluminous brand. Right now I'm using the Voluminous False Fiber formula, and my Mom uses the Voluminous Million lashes, and she's 74. I've also tried DiorShow mascara and have liked that a lot.

I've been using Loreal One Coat for years and it never feels too clumpy or too thick. I love it!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in the striped skirt below.
I love that telescopic mascara too. It's all I've used for the last couple of months. Like you I like to little ball on the end. It's so easy to apply!
ReplyDeleteI use Lash Blast, but with one of those ball shaped plastic brushes from an old mascara. Much better results than using the huge brush that comes with it. I keep the little cap that came with the Lash Blast and use it to keep the tube closed.
