My Favorite Boots

jacket and skirt~TJ's
sweater~Vicoria's Secret
clog boots~boutique Rockport

~My Favorite Boots~

Ok, so you know how much I love clogs, right?  Then what could be better for me than CLOG BOOTS!  I love these booties so much--they are warm, comfortable, versatile (the cuff can be turned up) and weather-proof.  They were a bit over my budget; but so worth it!

~Trends~

I'm hearing that Fluoro colors will be in again this year--not that it makes that much difference to me.  I will wear them anyway.  Especially in the doldrums of winter.  Must cheer myself up.

Check it out!

Purple, Red and Lime Green

jacket, fur scarf & skirt~TJ's
sweater~**senior moment***
boots~Aldo

new camera pics--can you tell the difference?

~Outfit Thoughts~

This is what happens when I'm bored with the dreary colors of winter.  I start digging up some crazy color combos.  Surprisingly, tho, this trio of colors came from J. Crew, and I saw another rendition of it at Express.  The even weirder part?  I can do many renditions of this with OTHER clothing in my closet of the same colors!  Be forewarned......

~Technical Data~

Has anyone seen the "Fotoshop" video on Youtube?  Well, I have a dirty little secret.  I did it.  Yup. I photo-shopped this picture.  I have to confess--IT FELT SO GOOD!  It was just a little wrinkle shadow on my forehead that was very distracting.  It was the way the sun was hitting my face.  Really. Sooo much cheaper than botox.....

Outfit Mood Thoughts

sweater~Zara's (sale $19.99)
skirt~Banana Republic
boots~TJ's

bolero~ J Peterson catalog
skirt~Ann Taylor
shooties~Nordstom The Rack

~Mood Thoughts~

I know it's sort of trite, but dressing is moody.  And just like a song that gets stuck in your head, I kept hearing the Osmond's lyrics play over and over again as I was looking through these pictures.  I just couldn't help myself and post them!  (Course I could have done a more extreme version of Rock 'n Roll; but we'll save that for another day.)

~Technical Data~

It took me HOURS to put the little text bubbles on my photos working in Photoshop!  The collage was done in Picassa, and took me no time at all.  All of these photos were taken with my old camera.  New camera photos may begin on Thursday....

I Can Still Wear Shoes!

~Outfit Thoughts~

I am so glad I can still wear shoes!  (or low boots as the case may be..)  We are in a snow drought; yeah!

I wove this necklace around a scarf--I couldn't decide which one to wear so I wore both.

And I like the mix of plaids--with these neutral shades, it's so much easier than mixing the brightly colored prints that I have.

Red and Pink

jacket~Express
skirt~Banana Republic
boots~Aldo

Color Theory Thoughts

I could never figure out why, growing up, that pink and red were such a no-no.  Pink is red tinted; if you were a painter, you would be adding white to red.  So what was the big deal?

I think this so-called offbeat color combo gives this long skirt some funk.  And I think long skirts need funk--otherwise it can be a voyage into old-lady-land.  This skirt is gorgeous though.  The wool fabric drapes well and is of high quality.  And yes, that's another body suit underneath--hey, it is a great layering piece!

Where is my Waist?

~Outfit Thoughts~

Very high-waisted skirt that is accentuated with the short jacket--whadaya think?  I haven't found my where my new menopausal waist is.....things creep up and things creep down....

I'm worried I may look like one of those women with their waist under their boobs....lol

New Year Metamorphasis

skirt~silk; Ralph Lauren
sweater~Loft

Happy New Year!

Lots of changes here at Fashion Over Fifty!  New layout, new camera, and weekly videos coming soon.  There will be less text; more humor (hopefully!)

The outfit?  Don't you think the belt adds so much shape to an otherwise lots-of-material outfit?  I just wove the belt through the knit.

Back in high school, we would have called the first pose a "snot pose".  Remember those poses for your senior pictures that just weren't you?

Can't wait to hear from you all!  Paula
