(and now the fam becomes visible for Visible Monday!)
We actually started this tradition last year. For Christmas the four of us get together and Christmas shop in Rockport--an artistic, ocean-side community with a slew of cute little shops. One gift each. Then we go for lunch.
We started off the day with a family picture--as it is rare now to have the whole family together with one of my sons in San Diego.
Coffee was first on the list, then we wander around picking out our favorite items, then drop hints where our picks are at.

One of the many cute shops! My fingers were freezing and it was hard to take pictures! |
After we go for lunch and maybe a cocktail.

Looks like a great time, and I love your tradition of small-business, specialty shopping. I think I've eaten in that restaurant. Great view, indeed.

DeleteEnjoyed your Christmas shopping story, its great knowing bloggers are real, normal people. Saturday was "shop small" day and I had a blast spending my American Express $50 credit to shop at my local consignment shop.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Rockport looks like one of those postcard towns!
ReplyDeletePostcard town, totally. And they do have decent artist shops and some second hand stores too. And some cheesy souvenier shops.
