By the Campfire

Here I am, getting set for a night by the campfire with friends. I have my jeggings and my shooties on. Lovin' my new jeggings from Madewell; they are real denim, nice and long, and a not too low waistline. My shooties were a big hit! I'm really happy about the neutral color where they are a transitional piece--a darker color wouldn't look appropriate now as they will be a short season shoe. I would have liked my tunic just a bit longer--but it works.

It was Labor day--anyone out there still thinking they can't wear white anymore?????

  1. Hi, I just found your blog through IFB, and what a relief to find a blogger who has a similar focus! My blog is for the over 40 woman (www.over40style.com). I've found many blogs out there for moms, but few about fashion...am I missing out something??

  2. Hi Jo! I'll check out your blog too. I hear you about the lack of fashion for us over 40~I have found the same thing! I think a lot of my friends have just given up. Some just got so frustrated shopping, because, as you know, it is really geared for either the really young or its just too old looking. And their body has changed, and their focus with kids and all.

Lets both try and instill a little enthusiasm out there, eh?

So glad you dropped by my blog--looking forward to talking to you again soon!

  3. I'm an over-50 fashion blogger, too....but very new. I recently bought some jeggings but haven't tried them out yet. Love yours! The tunic doesn't need to be longer. The proportion is great on you!

  5. Love this look!
I was just reading that whites after Labor Day just have to be a little more structured and substantial than summer whites, like jeans, jackets. No crepey white tops, though then they said those are ok under the jacket. So there goes the rule!

  6. Lisa--thanks for that tip--I'll need to communicate that to some people that still think they need to follow that rule.
